SPOTLIGHT ON
Anna
LONDON, UK
Flores
This month’s spotlight turns to Ana Margarita Flores, Peruvian-born, London-based photographer whose emotionally grounded portraiture spans art, fashion and documentary.
Raised in Geneva and rooted in her Peruvian heritage, her work explores intimacy, memory and belonging, moving between the real and the consciously constructed; her practice is driven by a curiosity for people and the complexity of the stories they carry, connecting individual experience to wider questions of culture, heritage and place. Her work begins with relationships, exploring identity, heritage and inheritance.
This month’s spotlight turns to Arlette Ess, whose work blurs the boundary between the natural world and our inner landscapes. Inspired by myths, archetypes and symbolism, her dreamlike compositions transform flora, fauna and fantastical creatures into reflections of how we search for meaning in a layered reality.
Having trained at Alexander McQueen and contributed to Hermès Paris scarf collections, Arlette now devotes her practice to intricate ink and watercolour works, often digitally layered. Each piece feels like a love letter to nature — a meditation on beauty, fragility and the stories that connect us to the world around us.
Our Principles
I
If it's not worth keeping,
it's not worth sending.
II
Curated by people,
not algorithms.
III
Every artist credited,
every artist paid.
IV
Build to support,
not extract.
V
Experiment boldly,
refine relentlessly.
VI
To create experiences,
that give art a social life.
