Double The Love, 2025

Alfie Kungu (b. 1993) is a UK-based painter whose playful, vibrant work draws on nostalgic memories of carnival, as experienced within the diaspora, often seen through the perspective of children. 'Double the Love' is a self-portrait of the artist and his twin daughters, made during a period of struggling for inspiration. Reflecting the honest reality of daily life, this tender yet playful imaes finds meaning in the everyday, where love lies in what is simply lived.
