Always thinking about you (Jesus to a child), 2025

Tiago Evangelista (b. 1987) is a Lisbon-based painter whose work turns to suburban space, abandoned buildings and industrial objects, blending abstraction with contemporary logos and trademarks. 'Always Thinking About You (Jesus to a child)' explores the idea that death is constantly awaiting us from birth, a humorous take on religion and the idea of an all-loving god. Playful yet solemn, it finds levity in mortality, where faith lies in what we joke about most.
