Science Ball 24/9/10 By Andy, 2025

Tessa MacKay (b.1991) is a photo/hyperreal painter in Perth, WA. ‘Science Ball 24/9/10 By Andy’ is lifted from MacKay’s ongoing series SOCIAL REALISM in which she uses digital photography lifted from late-2000s Facebook pages as source imagery for her paintings. The images evoke the naivety and tech-optimism of the era, a time when social media was in its infancy and amateur photography still looked clumsy and unpolished. This edition is presented as part of CAART x Minor Attractions, 2026.
