Guinness Punch Princess, 2024

Tonique Sewell (b. 1998) is a painter whose work explores the changing nature of materials, blending daily life in London with memories rooted in Jamaica through cinematic composition. Part of her ongoing Repair Shop series, 'Guinness Punch Princess' captures her favourite viewpoint at the shop, named after her grandmother's Jamaican drink and nickname for her. Familiar yet cinematic, it frames memory through place, where belonging lies in what is passed down.
