Ronan Mckenzie (b. 1994, London, UK) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer and curator whose work explores identity, intimacy and belonging through image-making and experiential storytelling. Created for The Wall Street Journal in 2020, this image forms part of a series documenting sisters Akuac and AJ. Powerful yet tender, it explores strength, sensuality and self-possession, creating a portrait of quiet authority where power lies in the freedom to choose what remains unseen.
