Maracas Beach Prayer Study I, 2026

Emily Alice Mitchell (b. 2002) is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher and archivist whose practice navigates archives, memory and loss through sculpture, printmaking, collage and mixed heritage. 'Maracas Beach Prayer Study I' reimagines a photograph taken by her late grandmother of Maracas Beach, Trinidad, speaking to ancestral memory in relation to non-linear time and place. Fragmented yet enduring, it reclaims what was once witnessed, where memory lies in the image reimagined.
