Bloom, 2025

Athul Prasad (b. 1995) is a London-based artist working across documentary and portraiture whose practice moves between dreams and reality, using colour and form to question perception. Photographed at the flower market at Mullick Ghat in Calcutta, 'Bloom' captures the bustling energy of sellers and devotees navigating heaps of marigolds. Fleeting yet symbolic, it finds life and death in what is bought, where meaning lies in the flowers' inevitable withering.
